Assessment-only route to Qualified Teacher Status
If you are an experienced teacher without Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), then this programme could be for you. If you've been teaching for over two years, you could gain QTS in less than 12 weeks through this assessment-only route.
Fast track to QTS: a programme for experienced teachers
- Focus on your skills, not training
As the name suggests, this programme assesses your existing abilities against the QTS standards. There's no additional training required, just a demonstration of your teaching skills. - Unlock career advancement
Earning QTS opens doors to new opportunities. It's a mandatory qualification for teaching in state-maintained schools in England, and many independent schools and British Schools overseas also require it. - Boost your earning potential
QTS can significantly increase your earning potential. Teachers with QTS can see annual salary increases of up to £8,000 (Comparison based on the Unqualified Teachers’ Pay Scales versus the Teachers’ Pay Scales [England, 2023/24]).
Fees
- UK – £2,500
- EU – £2,750*
- Rest of the world – £3,000*
*International trainees will also be expected to cover any visa, flight, accommodation, travel and sustenance costs incurred during the university assessor visits.

With their help, I became a qualified teacher. I would highly recommend NITE to anyone seeking professional development or certification in teaching and education through the assessment-only route.
