Wrocław has plenty of budget-friendly milk bars (bar mleczny) serving traditional Polish food, and you'll find numerous cafes and pubs with student-friendly prices. Groceries are also quite affordable, especially if you shop at local markets. With careful budgeting, you can enjoy a comfortable lifestyle in Wrocław without overspending.

Getting around

Boasting an efficient and affordable public transportation system, navigating the city can be a a breeze. Trams and buses are the main modes of transport, with an extensive network of lines that crisscross the city, ensuring you can reach most destinations conveniently. You can purchase tickets from vending machines at tram and bus stops and even use contactless payment methods on some services.

The city centre is compact with extensive pedestrian zones and walkways, particularly in the Old Town, making it safe and pleasant to explore on foot. The city is also mostly flat, with no major hills to climb, making walking easy. If you prefer two wheels, consider renting a bike through the city's bike-sharing programme.
