Accommodation

The accommodation we have available is a mix of Coventry University-owned halls and private halls of residence we have partnerships with. This is specified on our web pages, online application portal, and in our accommodation brochure.

Generally, Coventry University-owned halls offer 39- or 43-weeks contracts for undergraduate students and 50-weeks contracts for postgraduate students. Contract lengths are not related to your course length, so check what your term dates will be first before submitting your accommodation application. In certain circumstances, we may be able to provide extensions, provided we are notified in advance. For our partner private halls, please check contract lengths with them directly.

Our flats are mostly mixed-sex, but we do have a limited number of single-sex flats. Please ensure you specify your gender-sharing preferences on your application and we will do our best to accommodate it, subject to availability.

We allocate rooms based on the date you submitted your application, not by course. This means the residents in each flat will be students from a mix of courses.

Our University-owned halls are reasonably supported 24/7 by our protection Service, CCTV, and access control by multiple key/fob entry points. Bishop Gate, Godiva Place and The Cycle Works also have an access-controlled entry in reception. For our partner private halls, please check with them directly.

We offer a guaranteed place in either University or privately-owned accommodation for all Coventry University and CU Coventry applicants accepted through UCAS Clearing.
