About us

Partnering with researchers and research leaders, Research Services helps drive, deliver and develop the University Research Strategy, adding value throughout the entire research lifecycle. Our services are delivered within a positive, enabling, and collaborative culture, which engages staff, allows space for creativity, and provides recognition and reward.

Our teams

Research Services provide support for activities throughout the research funding lifecycle.  These services are delivered through the following teams:

Research Funding, Development and Governance

• The Research Funding team support all aspects of the pre-award lifecycle including research planning, funding, bid development and bid submission, as well as international partnership building.
• The Research Governance team is responsible for ensuring the Group meets university, funder and government regulatory requirements in the context of research, delivering strategic and operational services to the university.
• The Research Ethics and Integrity team is responsible for leading, coordinating, administering and promoting ethical practice and integrity in research practice in line with the Group’s Ethics and Conduct Policy.

Research Excellence, Impact and Culture

• The Research Excellence Impact & Culture team support the university and its researchers to optimise opportunities for the development and delivery of excellent and impactful research.
• The Research Systems team is responsible for implementing systems and tools to support process improvement, data capture and reporting for the activities of the research community.

Research Management, Administration and Projects 

• Research Project Managers provide professional support for researchers in project management, research ethics and integrity. The team support with negotiation and signing of research contracts, preparing them for delivery, management and closure.
• Research Managers, Officers and Administrators work in partnership with the academic community to deliver world leading research underpinned by sound governance structures and clear processes.
